For 75 years, NACBS has supported excellent scholarship in British Studies and now we are looking toward the future.
On the occasion of our 75th anniversary, we invite you to join us in shaping the future of our scholarly community through our 75th Anniversary Capital Campaign. This milestone is not just a reflection of our past, but an opportunity to invest in the next generation of scholars.
Â
Today marks the first day of our year-long capital campaign, which will raise money to support our Dissertation Fellowship and Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship programs. All contributions will go towards establishing a dedicated fund to support these important grants in the future. Our goal is to raise $25,000 from membership, which the NACBS will match, to seed an endowed fund for these fellowships.
Â
There is no better day than today – #GivingTuesday – to launch our 75th anniversary capital campaign. Created in 2012 as a day that encourages people to do good, Giving Tuesday is an annual celebration of generosity. NACBS is participating in Giving Tuesday today, the global day of unity and giving.
Â
But we can’t do this without you! Your support, no matter the size, can make a real difference.  We understand that everyone’s situation is different, so please donate at whatever level feels right for you. You could consider a donation in the amount of the number of years that you've been a member of NACBS and share in the comments box your memory of your first conference. Detailed information about the campaign and what your donation will support can be found at this link.
Â
People demonstrate generosity in many ways on Giving Tuesday and our organization relies on more than financial contributions. Whether it’s contributing funds, or volunteering your time, we would love to see you involved! NACBS is a volunteer-run organization and we depend on our members to serve in various roles like Council or our prize and grant committees. If you’d like to volunteer in some way, you can sign up here.

The NACBS has been supporting research and scholarship in British Studies for 75 years and we ask you for your help to ensure we can continue this important work. We look forward to celebrating this important anniversary over the next year.
